Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) officials on Tuesday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and briefed him on preparations for the upcoming Irani Cup match scheduled to be held in Srinagar.
According to an official statement, JKCA Chief Executive Officer Brig Anil Gupta (Retd) and Secretary Vivek Khajuria met the Lieutenant Governor and discussed arrangements for the prestigious domestic first-class fixture.
The officials informed the Lieutenant Governor that Srinagar is set to host the five-day Irani Cup match from October 1 to 5, 2026.
The Irani Cup is one of India’s premier domestic cricket tournaments and its hosting in Srinagar is expected to further boost the region’s profile as a venue for major sporting events.
