SRINAGAR/JAMMU: Three people, including a three-year-old boy, were killed in separate accidents in Srinagar, Reasi and Samba districts on Sunday, officials said.
In Srinagar, a migrant worker died after a tipper truck allegedly hit the scooty he was riding near a brick kiln in the Shalina area on Sunday evening.
Officials identified the deceased as Arbaz Khan, a steel welder from Uttar Pradesh. Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation.
In Reasi district, a three-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a tempo in the Sullah area.
Officials said the vehicle was travelling from Reasi towards Jammu when it struck the child, identified as Bahar Din, son of Abdul Qayoom of Sonchal Gali Dharmari in Tehsil Thuroo. He was taken to District Hospital Reasi, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile, a man died after being hit by a moving train while crossing a railway track in Samba district.
The deceased was identified as Ajeet Kumar, a resident of Bara village. Police said the body was taken into custody for medico-legal formalities and further investigation has been initiated into the incident.
Police are investigating all three cases.
