SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday invited tourists from across the country and abroad to visit Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the region’s natural beauty, hospitality and diverse tourism offerings on World Tourism Day.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor described Jammu and Kashmir as the “crown of India” and invited visitors to experience its scenic landscapes and hospitality.
“On World Tourism Day, Jammu Kashmir, the crown of India, welcomes you all. It offers a breathtaking and timeless experience enriched with warm hospitality. I invite everyone to come and experience the enchanting charm of Jammu Kashmir,” Sinha said.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also extended an invitation to travellers, describing Jammu and Kashmir as an “immortal paradise” offering a range of tourism experiences.
In a post on his official X handle, Abdullah said the Union Territory’s attractions ranged from pristine mountains, lakes and valleys to adventure tourism, pilgrimage circuits, leisure destinations, meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) facilities, wedding tourism, trekking routes and film locations.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to improving tourism infrastructure and promoting sustainable and eco-friendly tourism practices.
He said efforts were being made to ensure that local youth and the region’s cultural heritage remained central to the tourism and hospitality sector.
Abdullah also called upon visitors from India and abroad to travel to Jammu and Kashmir and experience its hospitality and attractions.
