SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Thursday directed Deputy Commissioners across the Valley to accelerate registrations under the Agristack initiative and the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) to meet targets within stipulated timelines.
The directions were issued during a review meeting attended by Deputy Commissioners, Director Skill Development, Additional Secretary Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Central and other officials.
Reviewing progress under Agristack, particularly village-wise coverage, Garg asked Deputy Commissioners to ensure 100 per cent submission and 60 per cent approval of targeted villages by September 30.
He also reviewed the status of farmer registrations and directed district administrations to intensify efforts to bridge gaps against assigned targets. Officials were asked to closely monitor progress and expedite the processing of registrations.
The Divisional Commissioner instructed Deputy Commissioners to submit consolidated reports on issues and bottlenecks affecting the registration process so that they could be taken up with the concerned departments for resolution.
Reviewing progress under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme, Garg directed district administrations to exceed the assigned registration targets by Monday. He also stressed the need for quality checks of establishment and apprentice registrations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
He called for close monitoring of both initiatives and directed officials to accord priority to achieving the targets within the prescribed deadlines.
