SRINAGAR: The Jal Shakti Department has 110 irrigation schemes under its jurisdiction in the Sonawari constituency, Minister for Jal Shakti Javed Ahmad Rana informed the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
Replying to a question raised by MLA Hilal Akbar Lone, the minister said the department has prepared seven Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the repair, restoration and upgradation of old and non-functional irrigation schemes in the constituency.
He said the DPRs have been prepared at an estimated cost of ₹116 crore.
The minister informed the House that these projects are proposed to be included in the department’s shelf of works for the 2027-28 financial year.
Rana said the proposed projects are aimed at improving irrigation infrastructure and restoring the functionality of ageing schemes in the constituency.
