Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Bank is set to restart recruitment of banking assistants and officers after a gap of five years, with a recruitment notification likely to be issued within days, Managing Director and CEO Amitava Chatterjee said on Tuesday.
Chatterjee made the announcement while responding to a query during the Bank’s 88th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of shareholders held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) here.
He said the agreement with the agency that will conduct the recruitment examinations has been finalised and the notification will be issued shortly.
The recruitment process will cover Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, he said.
On recruitment outside Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Chatterjee said the Bank may undertake limited hiring based on local language requirements in areas where it operates.
“The bank has a presence in 22 states outside J&K and we require employees who are proficient in local languages to serve our customers,” he added.
