SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Sujit Kumar, on Wednesday reviewed the security situation, law and order preparedness, crime scenario and operational readiness in Bandipora district.
The review meeting was held at the District Police Lines (DPL) Bandipora and was attended by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) North Kashmir Range Vinod Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora Ajaz Ahmed Zargar, Additional SP Bandipora and other district police officers.
According to police, the SSP briefed the IGP on the overall security situation in the district, including counter-terrorism measures, intelligence inputs, area domination exercises, security arrangements at vulnerable locations, law and order preparedness and crime-related issues.
During the meeting, the IGP directed officers to strengthen public-friendly policing, improve crime disposal and maintain operational preparedness in line with field requirements.
He also stressed the need for vigilance and prompt response to emerging security and law and order challenges.
The IGP appreciated the work of police personnel and asked them to continue performing their duties with commitment to ensure public safety and security, police said.
