SRINAGAR: Police in Budgam have solved a gold theft case with the arrest of the accused woman and recovery of the stolen gold bangle from her.
Sharing details, police said acting on a written complaint regarding the theft of a gold bangle from the wrist of a woman during her visit to the Charar-i-Sharief Shrine, police with the help of CCTV footage and other available evidence, identification the suspected accused, identified as Dolly Jan, a resident of Shaltang, at present Lalpora Tangmarg.
She was apprehended, and during questioning, she disclosed her involvement and subsequently the stolen gold bangle was recovered from her possession. Further investigation into the case is underway, police said.
