SRINAGAR: The President of India has appointed judicial officer Yash Paul Bourney as a judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The appointment was made in exercise of the powers conferred by the Constitution of India after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, according to an official notification issued on Friday.
Bourney was among 14 judicial officers appointed as judges and additional judges in the High Courts of Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Jharkhand and Karnataka.
While Bourney was appointed as a judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, the notification also announced the appointment of two judicial officers as judges and six as additional judges of the Delhi High Court, two judges for the Jharkhand High Court and three additional judges for the Karnataka High Court.
The appointments take effect from the date the appointees assume charge of their respective offices.
