Officials reviewed the status of several projects aimed at reducing traffic congestion, including the development of the Natipora-Chanapora road, a T-junction at Natipora crossing, the Shalteng-Parimpora flyover, a footbridge at the Pediatric Hospital in Bemina, an underpass at Nowgam, a shopping complex at Noorbagh and a road along the Doodhganga riverbank from Barzulla to Sanat Nagar.

The meeting also reviewed Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) initiatives, including the identification of 10 additional junctions for installation of Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) cameras, painting of zebra crossings and stop lines, implementation of an IT-based parking management system and progress on e-bus charging stations at Zoonimar and Batamaloo.

Garg reviewed action taken reports submitted by the Roads and Buildings Department, SSCL, Regional Transport Office and Traffic Police on decisions taken in earlier meetings.

The Divisional Commissioner directed SSCL and the Traffic Police to implement stop-line interventions at identified junctions within 10 days. He also directed SSCL to hand over the traffic control room to the Traffic Police to strengthen monitoring and management of traffic movement.

He further directed that the e-bus charging station at Batamaloo be made operational within 10 days and asked SSCL to complete 72 bus stops under Module-A by October 31.

Garg also directed officials of the R&B and Irrigation and Flood Control departments to jointly inspect the proposed Lasjan Bund Road project and submit recommendations for its development.
