SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president and Rajya Sabha member Sat Sharma on Sunday reviewed the party’s organisational activities in Kashmir and called for stronger grassroots outreach during a meeting in Srinagar.
The meeting, held at the party office in Church Lane, was attended by BJP vice-president Dr Shehnaz Ganie, general secretaries Mohammad Anwar Khan and Gopal Mahajan, along with office-bearers, spokespersons, district presidents and leaders of various party wings.
According to the BJP, the review focused on the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a month-long campaign being conducted from September 17 to October 17 in connection with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
District presidents, programme in-charges and party prabharis presented reports on activities carried out in their respective areas and outlined plans for the next phase of the campaign.
Addressing the meeting, Sharma stressed the need for greater organisational coordination and sustained public engagement. He urged party workers to strengthen the BJP’s presence at the grassroots level and take the party’s programmes and initiatives to the people.
He said the BJP had a roadmap for the development of Jammu and Kashmir and called for collective efforts to expand the party’s outreach across the Kashmir Valley.
Party leaders also discussed organisational issues and field-level concerns raised by district units and reviewed measures aimed at improving coordination and planning.
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is scheduled to continue across Jammu and Kashmir until October 17, with activities being organised at district and constituency levels, the party said.
