SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Sujit Kumar on Wednesday chaired a security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to assess the security situation and operational preparedness across the Central Kashmir Range.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Central Kashmir Range (CKR), senior superintendents of police of Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal, SSP PCR Kashmir, sub-divisional police officers and other senior officers.
According to police, officers briefed the IGP on the prevailing security situation in their respective jurisdictions and outlined the security measures in place to maintain law and order.
During the review, Kumar assessed the security grid and operational readiness of police personnel across the region. He directed officers to intensify counter-insurgency operations, strengthen area domination measures and enhance surveillance and checking at vulnerable locations.
The IGP also called for increased vigilance along inter-district boundaries and asked officers to ensure that security arrangements remain flexible and responsive to emerging situations.
Police said Kumar emphasised the need for regular assessment of security deployments and directed officers to strengthen preventive measures wherever required to maintain public safety and peace.
The meeting concluded with directions to maintain round-the-clock vigilance, reinforce preventive security measures and ensure close coordination among field units, police said.
