According to officials, the project included civil and electrical works, interior improvements, guest facilities, external development and allied infrastructure.

The upgraded J&K House now comprises four guest rooms with attached dressing areas and washrooms, besides a common lounge, dining area and kitchen.

Situated close to major hospitals and other important locations in the city, the facility is expected to benefit patients and attendants travelling for medical treatment, as well as students, pilgrims and other visitors from Jammu and Kashmir.

During the visit, the Chief Minister inspected the renovated premises and directed officials to maintain high standards of hospitality, cleanliness and upkeep.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdullah said the facility would help reduce the difficulties faced by patients and their families travelling outside Jammu and Kashmir for treatment while also providing affordable accommodation for other visitors from the Union Territory.

He appreciated the efforts of the departments and officers involved in the renovation and stressed the importance of maintaining the facility to ensure quality services for guests.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by his Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta, Resident Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, Secretary Hospitality and Protocol Avny Lavasa, Additional Resident Commissioner Anil Sharma and other senior officers of the governments of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.
