DC Ganderbal reviews Srinagar Ring Road Phase-II, Phase-IIA projects

GANDERBAL: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the Srinagar Ring Road Phase-II and Phase-IIA projects in the district, directing officials to ensure timely resolution of bottlenecks and maintain close coordination for smooth execution of the works.

The review meeting focused on issues related to project implementation, including the shifting of structures falling within the alignment of the Ring Road and measures required to facilitate uninterrupted progress of construction.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the traffic management plan proposed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) during the construction phase. Stressing the need to minimise inconvenience to commuters, he directed NHAI and other concerned agencies to adopt a coordinated approach to prevent traffic congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement, particularly during emergencies.

He instructed the Traffic Police, Police Department, Revenue authorities and NHAI to conduct a joint ground assessment and formulate a comprehensive traffic management plan for the project areas.

Kishore directed all departments and executing agencies to adhere strictly to the timelines fixed during the meeting and resolve identified issues on priority so that development works are not delayed.

Emphasising public safety and uninterrupted progress of the Ring Road projects, he said all stakeholders must work in close coordination to ensure prompt implementation of decisions and minimise inconvenience to the public.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Traffic Police, Superintending Engineer R&B Circle Ganderbal, Project Director NHAI, Executive Engineers of various departments, Tehsildar Ganderbal, officials of BSNL and other concerned officers.
