GANDERBAL: Three minor boys reported missing from Ganderbal district earlier this month have been traced in Maharashtra and safely reunited with their families, police said on Sunday.
According to police, a complaint regarding the disappearance of the three boys was lodged at Police Station Kheerbawani on September 3 by Hamza Bin Yousuf of Tulmulla, Ganderbal.
Following the complaint, a case was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation was launched.
Police said that during the course of the investigation, technical intelligence generated leads regarding the whereabouts of the missing boys, following which a special team was constituted to trace them.
After several days of investigation and follow-up, the boys were located at Daund Railway Station in Pune district of Maharashtra on September 9 with the assistance of Maharashtra Police.
The minors were subsequently brought back to Ganderbal and reunited with their respective families, police said.
Further proceedings in the case are underway.
