SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo on Monday visited the historic Ganpatyar Temple in the Habbakadal area and participated in Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations held amid religious fervour and community participation.
During the visit, Labroo reviewed arrangements made for devotees and assessed measures put in place for the smooth conduct of the festival. He also interacted with devotees and members of the temple management committee and conveyed his greetings on the occasion.
Officials said the Deputy Commissioner inspected facilities and reviewed preparations undertaken by various departments to ensure the celebrations were conducted smoothly.
The event witnessed participation from devotees, volunteers and members of the Kashmiri Pandit community and was held in a peaceful atmosphere.
Labroo also reviewed the coordination among civil administration departments and police personnel deployed for the occasion. According to officials, he appreciated the efforts of the departments and organisers involved in managing the celebrations.
Members of the organising committee expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the district administration for the festival, officials said.
