Anantnag: Anantnag Police on Saturday conducted a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) at 20 locations in the Waghama area of the district as part of an intensified crackdown on drug peddling, officials said.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 13 suspected drug peddlers were picked up for questioning during the coordinated operation.
He said the operation was aimed at identifying and dismantling local networks involved in the illegal drug trade and disrupting the supply chain.
The official said the CASO was part of sustained and intelligence-based action against individuals and networks involved in drug peddling in the district.
He said Anantnag Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards the illegal drug trade and that such operations would continue to be intensified to curb the menace of narcotics and safeguard the youth.—(KNO)
