Jammu: National Conference Member of Parliament Mian Altaf on Monday visited the family of the minor tribal girl who recently died during a pregnancy termination after being allegedly raped by her school teacher in a remote Chatroo village in the Kishtwar district here, officials said.
The probe into the case was handed over to the Crime Branch on August 29, and so far, ten accused people, including the alleged rapist, have been arrested.
An NC spokesperson said the MP visited the residence of the bereaved family at Gurinal village and expressed his condolences.
Later, Altaf also visited and met the victim’s father, who is admitted to District Hospital Kishtwar. He expressed concern over the father’s health and assured the family of all possible support, the spokesperson said.
He assured the family that the matter would be pursued with the concerned authorities.
