ANANTNAG: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar, on Thursday reviewed the security and crime situation in Anantnag district during a meeting held at the District Police Office (DPO) Anantnag.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range, Javid Iqbal Matoo, Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure, and other senior police officers.
According to police officials, the review focused on the overall security scenario in the district, crime prevention measures, investigation of cases and ongoing police operations.
During the meeting, the IGP assessed security arrangements and directed officers to strengthen the security grid, enhance coordination among field units and ensure prompt action against criminal and anti-social elements.
He also emphasised the need for preventive policing measures and heightened vigilance to maintain law and order and ensure public safety in the district.
Senior officers briefed the IGP on the prevailing security situation and steps being taken to strengthen policing and security measures in Anantnag.
