SRINAGAR: Police in Anantnag apprehended two drug peddlers while another one was arrested in neighbouring Pulwama district, a police spokesperson informed.
He said a police party during routine patrolling at Mirgund near Rehmat Alam Masjid, apprehended Uzair Ashraf Wani and Mujtaba Mehraj, both residents of Sarnal, Anantnag, after cannabis was recovered from their possession.
In Pulwama, police apprehended a drug peddler at Newa Chowk and recovered approximately 12.5 grams of heroin-like substance along with ₹14,300 in cash from him.
The accused was identified as Mohammad Sahil of Chak Wali Sahab, Rawalpora, Sanatnagar, Srinagar. The contraband, cash and the vehicle used by him were seized while a case was registered under Sections 8/21-27A of the NDPS Act for further investigation, police said.
