Srinagar: A delegation of officers recently inducted into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), representatives of traders’ bodies, a religious trust and a public delegation from Bhaderwah separately called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday and raised a range of administrative, development and welfare-related issues.
The newly inducted IAS officers met the Lieutenant Governor and expressed gratitude to the Government of India and the administration. Sinha congratulated the officers and wished them success in their future assignments.
Mahant Rohit Shastri, president of the Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, discussed issues related to the promotion of spiritual tourism and preservation of Jammu and Kashmir’s cultural heritage. He also sought the development of an International Yoga Centre at Mantalai in Udhampur as a global hub for yoga-related activities.
A delegation of the Polo View Traders Association (North) highlighted various welfare and infrastructure-related concerns of traders operating in Srinagar’s Polo View market and sought redressal of issues affecting the business community.
Meanwhile, a public delegation led by former Sarpanch Ashok Kumar Sharma from Drodhu, Bhaderwah, also met the Lieutenant Governor and projected various developmental issues concerning the Bhaderwah area.
The delegation included BJP District General Secretary Doda Sanjay Saraf, President of the J&K Inter-District/Division Employees Association Kuldeep Kumar and Chairman of the ST Association J&K Parveen Kumar.
