SOPORE: A motorcyclist was killed after his motorcycle collided with a car in the Brath Kalan area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday, officials said.
According to officials, the accident occurred when a motorcycle and a Maruti Ignis car collided at Brath Kalan, leaving the rider critically injured.
The injured man was taken to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sopore by the car driver, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The deceased was identified as Tajamul Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Sheikhpora Bomai. His body has been kept at SDH Sopore for medico-legal formalities.
Officials said the driver of the car later reported to the police and was taken into custody for questioning as part of the investigation.
Police have registered a case and initiated further proceedings into the incident.
