SRINAGAR: The official jerseys of all six franchises participating in Season 2 of the Khyber Cement Kashmir Super League (KSL) and the league trophy were unveiled at the TRC Ground here on Saturday, a day ahead of National Sports Day.
The unveiling ceremony was held a day after the league’s player auction, during which nearly 200 footballers were drafted to complete the squads of the six participating teams.
The jerseys and trophy were unveiled by Sports Minister Satish Sharma, Commissioner Secretary Youth Services and Sports Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council Nuzhat Gul, and Chief of Sales and Customer Relations, Khyber Cement, Wasim Ahmed Khan.
Senior government officials, sports administrators, franchise owners, corporate representatives and football stakeholders attended the event.
Season 1 champions United Elegant FC will return to defend their title after winning last year’s final in a penalty shootout.
Speaking at the event, representatives of Khyber Cement said the company’s association with the league reflects its commitment to supporting sports and youth development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials associated with the league highlighted the impact of the inaugural season, noting that emerging players Aazim Parvez and Abrar Ali were subsequently selected for the India Under-17 national team camp.
Organisers said the second edition will feature six franchises, a larger player pool and continued corporate support aimed at providing greater opportunities for footballers from across Jammu and Kashmir.
The event also highlighted the role of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork, leadership and community engagement among youth.
The league’s second season is expected to begin shortly, with organisers describing it as another step towards strengthening football and expanding sporting opportunities in the region.
