SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department has forecast generally hot and humid weather across Jammu and Kashmir over the next 10 days, with intermittent spells of rain and thundershowers expected at scattered places.
According to the MeT Centre, brief spells of rain or thundershowers are likely during the early morning and afternoon hours from August 28 to 30.
On August 31 and September 1, the weather is expected to remain hot and humid, although many places may receive one or two spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Brief intense showers are also likely during the early morning and afternoon hours.
From September 2 to 7, weather conditions are expected to remain largely dry, with isolated rain or thundershower activity possible at scattered locations.
The MeT Centre has warned that intense localised showers on August 31 and September 1 could trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides in vulnerable areas. Residents have been advised to remain alert during periods of heavy rainfall.
Farmers have been advised to continue harvesting and other agricultural operations while keeping local weather conditions in view.
