SRINAGAR: Director Agriculture Kashmir Sartaj Ahmad Shah visited the Seed Multiplication Farm at Padgampora in Pulwama district to review seed production activities and assess preparations for the upcoming harvesting season.
During the visit, Shah inspected various farm blocks, the seed processing plant and the workshop, and reviewed ongoing work related to seed multiplication.
He also assessed field operations, crop management practices and arrangements for quality seed production ahead of the harvesting of major cereal crops.
The Director stressed the importance of departmental seed multiplication farms in ensuring the availability of quality seeds and supporting agricultural productivity in Kashmir. He directed officials to adopt scientific farming practices and ensure the timely supply of certified seeds to farmers.
Farm Manager Malik Reyaz Ahmad briefed the Director on the farm’s infrastructure, management and operational activities.
Shah reiterated the department’s commitment to strengthening seed multiplication farms and improving post-harvest management across the Valley.
Joint Director Extension Mujtaba Yehya and Deputy Director Planning Javeed Ahmad Shah accompanied the Director during the visit.
