Div Com reviews development plans for heritage sites in Budgam, Pulwama

Directs preparation of proposals for renovation and infrastructure upgradation

Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Monday reviewed proposals for the development and renovation of heritage and religious sites, including Asar-i-Sharief Peth Makhama in Budgam and Khoo Sahb Yarwan in Shadimarg area of Pulwama district.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Director Archives, Archaeology and Museums, Superintending Engineer Public Works Department (PWD) South Kashmir, Tehsildar Waqf Board, district officers and representatives of the District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Pulwama.

Representatives of the Prabandhak Committee presented a proposal for the development of the Holy Spring at Khoo Sahb Yarwan, seeking inclusion of facilities such as a Nishan Sahib, langar room, glass room, cottage rooms, footpaths and fencing in the Detailed Project Report (DPR).

Garg directed the Superintending Engineer, PWD South Kashmir, to incorporate the requirements in the proposal and undertake a site visit in coordination with the district administration. He also stressed involving community representatives in the planning process.

For the proposed works at Asar-i-Sharief Peth Makhama, the Divisional Commissioner directed the Tehsildar, Waqf Board, to consult local residents, assess project requirements and examine the feasibility of facade development and renovation of the shrine.

He emphasised coordination among departments and stakeholders for timely execution of development works at the two sites.
