Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday held its State Office Bearers’ and organisational meetings in Srinagar to review party activities and discuss strategies for strengthening its grassroots presence across the Union Territory.
The meeting, held at Hotel Countryside in Nowgam, was chaired by J&K BJP president and MP Sat Sharma and attended by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Ghulam Ali Khatana, former Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and other party leaders.
Addressing the meeting, Sat Sharma stressed the need to strengthen the party organisation at the booth level and called for regular meetings from booth and Shakti Kendra units to district and state levels. He also urged senior leaders and office-bearers to undertake more public outreach visits across Jammu and Kashmir.
Jitendra Singh asked party workers to remain prepared for political and organisational challenges and emphasised the need to effectively communicate government initiatives and development programmes to the public.
Sunil Sharma highlighted the contribution of party workers in expanding the BJP’s presence in Jammu and Kashmir, while Ashok Koul reviewed ongoing organisational programmes, including the Digital Learning Programme, Mann Ki Baat activities and monthly meetings at various organisational levels.
Jugal Kishore Sharma urged party workers to implement the party’s political resolutions, while Nirmal Singh stressed the importance of maintaining close contact with workers and the public at the grassroots level.
Ghulam Ali Khatana emphasised the role of social media and other communication platforms in expanding public outreach and disseminating information about the party’s programmes and policies.
Separate meetings with district presidents, district prabharis, MLAs and senior leaders were also held to review organisational functioning and discuss measures to strengthen the party’s presence across Jammu and Kashmir. Party leaders called upon workers to remain united and maintain regular engagement with the public.
