Indoor Taekwondo Academy bags 17 medals, finishes 2nd runner-up at Chenab Open Championship

Srinagar: Indoor Taekwondo Academy delivered an impressive performance at the Chenab Open Taekwondo Championship, securing the 2nd runner-up trophy after winning 17 medals, including eight gold, four silver and five bronze.

According to details available with the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO), gold medals were won by Suvaid Ahmad, Abbas Khursheed, Aleena Nisar, Hafida Rafiq, Ajiya Nasir, Aayat Jan, Mehreen Jan, Serrat Ayub and coach Zain Nazir.

Silver medals were secured by Zaheeb Javaid Malik, Essa Bin Sajid, Aiman Bashir and Suvaid Ahmad, while Mohammed Musineen, Mohammed Eesa Bhat, Aftab Malik, Zunaira Fatimah and Aleena Nisar claimed bronze medals in their respective events.

In the Poomsae category, Suvaid Ahmad and Aiman Bashir won silver medals, while Aleena Nisar secured bronze.

The academy team was led by international Taekwondo player and coach Zain Nazir, who trains athletes at the Taekwondo Centre, Gindun Stadium, Rajbagh. Competing under his guidance, the academy finished as the second runner-up in the championship.

The team expressed gratitude to Master Atul Pangotra, Chief Coach of J&K Taekwondo, for his mentorship and support, which they said had helped athletes gain exposure at district, state, national and international levels.

The academy also thanked the District Doda Taekwondo Association and the Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association for organising the championship successfully.

Coach Zain Nazir congratulated the athletes on their achievements and appreciated their dedication and hard work. He also thanked parents for their continued support, describing the success as a collective achievement of the Indoor Taekwondo Academy family.
