Gulmarg: MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah on Wednesday reviewed ongoing development works at the Gulmarg Golf Course and assessed the progress of various projects being executed at the site.
During the visit, Shah said the Gulmarg Golf Course, regarded as one of the oldest and highest-altitude green golf courses in the world, is a key asset for the region’s tourism sector.
He directed the concerned officers to expedite the ongoing works while ensuring adherence to quality standards. The MLA also said efforts would be made to organise golf championships in Gulmarg in the near future.
Shah noted that the golf course attracts tourists and golf enthusiasts from across the country and abroad, adding that the promotion of golf tourism would further strengthen tourism activities and contribute to the local economy.
He urged officials to work in close coordination to further develop the golf course as a major tourist attraction in Gulmarg.
