BRO chief engineer calls on LG, discusses Amarnath Yatra track development

Srinagar: Brigadier Chirag Ghura, Chief Engineer, Project Beacon of the BRO, on Tuesday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha here at the Lok Bhawan and briefed him about the track development for the Amarnath Yatra, an officioal press release informed.

It said the chief engineer was accompanied by Brigadier S Deepak, Chief Engineer (designate), Project Beacon, an official spokesperson said.

Ghura briefed Sinha on the track development for Amarnath Yatra and discussed various other ongoing Border Roads Organisation (BRO) infrastructure projects across the Union territory.

The annual Amarnath Yatra was suspended early this year due to track maintenance in the wake of heavy rainfall in the valley.

The yatra, which had begun on July 3, was scheduled to culminate on August 28 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
