Ganderbal, Aug 17: The Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (FVSc & AH) of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) on Monday held its third Graduation Day ceremony for the BVSc & AH 2020 batch, with 77 students completing the veterinary degree programme.
The ceremony was held at Harmukh Auditorium, Shuhama, where graduates were awarded provisional degree certificates. The university said final degree certificates would be conferred during its forthcoming convocation.
The programme included an academic procession, administration of the Veterinarian Oath, felicitation of academic achievers and recognition of the best outgoing internee student. A newsletter on the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan programme series, the fourth edition of the Arts and Craft Faculty Club magazine and a documentary prepared by the graduating students were also released.
Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-K Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai congratulated the graduates and urged them to uphold professional ethics and social responsibility in their careers. He also highlighted the university’s efforts towards academic and institutional development.
Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Prof Riaz Ahmad Shah presented an overview of the faculty’s academic activities and achievements and congratulated the graduating students.
Registrar SKUAST-K Prof Azmat Alam Khan administered the Veterinarian Oath and called upon the graduates to maintain the dignity of the profession through integrity, discipline and professional values.
Among those present were Director Extension Prof Raihana Habib Kanth, Director Education Prof Mohammad Altaf Bhat, Dean Students Welfare Prof Sajad Gangoo, UG Coordinator Dr I.M. Allaie, deans and associate deans of various faculties, retired faculty members, parents and students.
