BARAMULLA: The second day of the Inter-Zonal District-Level Selection Trials and Competitions in badminton, chess, table tennis and taekwondo was held across various venues in Baramulla district on Tuesday.
Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, the competitions are aimed at identifying talented athletes for higher-level participation.
The Under-17 boys’ badminton competition was conducted at Bipin Rawat Indoor Stadium, Baramulla, with players from 15 zones taking part. Chess competitions for Under-14 and Under-17 girls and Under-17 boys were held at Budding Bloom School, where more than 100 students participated.
Selection trials for Under-17 boys’ table tennis and taekwondo were organised at the Indoor Stadium, Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla.
Officials said the competitions are providing young athletes an opportunity to showcase their abilities and compete for selection to higher-level events.
