Srinagar administration honours civil, police officials for meritorious service

Srinagar: The District Administration Srinagar on Thursday felicitated officers and officials from the civil administration, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and District Police for their distinguished public service in the run-up to Independence Day celebrations.

The award ceremony, held at the DC Office Complex, was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, SMC Commissioner Faz Lul Haseeb and Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar Sandeep Chakraborty, who presented commendation certificates and mementoes to the awardees under the District Administration Srinagar’s Excellence in Public Services Award.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the awardees and lauded their professionalism, dedication and commitment to public service. He said sincerity and hard work are essential for building an efficient and citizen-centric administration.

Labroo also emphasised the importance of coordination among the District Administration, SMC and Police in ensuring effective service delivery and smooth execution of public duties.

The SMC Commissioner highlighted the role of teamwork and cooperation in creating a productive work environment, while the SSP Srinagar commended the awardees for their discipline and contribution to public service.

Among those honoured were Nodal Principal Kashmir Division Colleges Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz, Joint Commissioner SMC Nuzhat Qurashi, Executive Engineers Nisar Ahmad, Fareed Ahmad Khan, Akhter Hussain Raina and Asif Nazir Bhat, Assistant Labour Commissioner Adnan Tariq, NIC officer Shahnaz and District Tuberculosis Officer Dr Abdul Rouf.

Several officials from the District Administration, Planning Department, R&B Department, Traffic Police and DC Office were also felicitated. The Hospitality and Protocol Team, Team Protocol of the District Administration and Team School Abhinandan were recognised for their contributions.

From District Police Srinagar, Inspector Ab Rashid, Sub-Inspector Mushtaq Ahmad, Probationary Sub-Inspector Ruchi Sharma, Head Constable Munshi Mutwali and Sgt Constable Operator Shamin Ahmad Kooli were honoured for their dedicated services.

The event was attended by senior officers of the district administration, police and various departments.
