Jammu: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday reviewed the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir and discussed its organisational strategy, including preparations for the upcoming Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
The meeting, held at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, was chaired by BJP J&K president and Rajya Sabha member Sat Sharma. Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, BJP J&K General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, former deputy chief minister Nirmal Singh and BJP General Secretary Sanjita Dogra were among those present.
According to a party statement, the meeting discussed the prevailing political situation, the party’s grassroots outreach plans and arrangements for Tiranga rallies and related programmes across the Union Territory.
Addressing the meeting, Sat Sharma said the BJP would continue to focus on nationalism, governance and development. He alleged that the National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were misleading the public through “false narratives” and claimed that people were increasingly supporting the BJP’s development agenda.
He said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign would involve participation from party leaders, elected representatives, former legislators, panchayat members, ex-servicemen and civil society groups. Families of martyrs would also be honoured during the campaign, he added.
Sunil Sharma alleged that the National Conference government had failed to fulfil public expectations and accused it of poor governance and unfulfilled promises. He said BJP leaders and workers would intensify public outreach programmes to highlight the party’s development agenda.
Ashok Koul called for strengthening organisational activities at the booth level and urged party workers to ensure maximum public participation in upcoming programmes. He also asked party units to expand grassroots engagement and counter what he described as misinformation through public outreach.
