JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police and Border Security Force (BSF) conducted a joint anti-tunnel operation in the Pittal border outpost area on the outskirts of Jammu on Monday as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen border security, officials said.
The joint teams conducted a thorough search of the area to detect any suspicious activity or the presence of underground tunnels that could be used for illegal cross-border movement under the jurisdiction of the Allah border police post. Nothing suspicious was found, a police spokesperson said.
The overall security situation in the area remains peaceful and normal, he said.
Police, in close coordination with the BSF and other security agencies, continue to maintain a high level of alertness and regularly conduct such operations to ensure the safety and security of the border areas, the spokesperson said. (PTI)
