Congress seeks relief, rehabilitation for flash flood-hit families in Kishtwar, Rajouri and Poonch

Srinagar/Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Saturday expressed concern over the flash floods in Kishtwar district and urged the government to expedite rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected population.
In a statement, JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra, Working President Raman Bhalla and other senior party leaders expressed sympathy with the affected families and said the government should ensure all necessary assistance for those who have suffered losses due to the natural calamity.
The party leadership also asked Congress leaders in the affected areas to assist residents and coordinate with the local administration in providing immediate relief to those in need.
Senior Congress leaders, including former minister G.M. Saroori, Haider Sheikh, DCC President Pyare Lal Shan, Asif Naqeeb, Zaffarullah, Firdous Mingnoo and Naved Kishloo, urged the government and district administration to provide full support to the affected families.
The JKPCC also appealed to the Union Territory administration and the Centre to ensure adequate financial assistance and rehabilitation for people affected by the recent flash floods in Rajouri and Poonch, saying relief measures should be taken up on a war footing.
