ANANTNAG: A Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police was injured after his service rifle allegedly went off accidentally in Kokernag area of south Kashmir on Friday, officials said.
According to officials, the policeman, identified as Mohammad Altaf, sustained a gunshot injury to his foot.
He was shifted to the Sub-District Hospital, Kokernag, for initial treatment and was later referred to Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, for specialised care.
Officials said his condition is being monitored. Further details are awaited.
