SRINAGAR: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar on Friday held a public grievance redress programme at the Civil Secretariat, where he met delegations and individuals from across Kashmir and heard their grievances and developmental concerns.
According to an official statement, delegations from Kupwara, Baramulla, Sopore and other districts raised issues related to public infrastructure, rural development, agriculture, civic amenities, employment, social welfare and other matters of public importance.
The Minister assured the delegations that their genuine demands would be examined on merit and addressed in a time-bound manner. He also issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for early redress of several grievances and asked them to maintain close coordination with district administrations to ensure prompt resolution of public issues.
Dar said the government was committed to responsive, transparent and people-centric governance, and emphasised the need to strengthen public service delivery by addressing issues at the grassroots level.
He said such public grievance programmes provide an effective platform for understanding people’s concerns and help the government formulate timely and result-oriented interventions. He also stressed that the benefits of government schemes and developmental initiatives should reach deserving beneficiaries without delay, the statement said.
