Srinagar: Police in Srinagar have attached 10 immovable properties worth approximately ₹8 crores belonging to “notorious drug peddlers” under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, a police spokesperson informed Monday.
He said acting in accordance with Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, Police Station Nowhatta attached the properties identified as “illegally acquired assets generated through proceeds of narcotics trafficking”.
The attached properties are a double-storeyed residential house constructed on 6 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹85 lakh, and belonging to Sajad Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Zahidpora Sheikh Colony, Hawal; a double-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹55 lakh, and belonging to Hajra Begum of Tujgari Mohalla, Sheikh Colony, Nowhatta; a four-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹75 lakh, belonging to Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh alias Gulloo, a resident of Tujgari Mohalla, Sheikh Colony, Nowhatta; a single-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹55 lakh, belonging to Fahmeeda @ Famba, , resident of Tujgari Mohalla, Nowhatta; a double-storeyed residential house on 5 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹75 lakh and belonging to Abdul Ahad Sheikh,a resident of Tujgari Mohalla, Nowhatta; a three-storeyed residential house on 5 marlas of land belonging to Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, resident of Sheikh Colony, Tujgari Mohalla, Nowhatta, valued at approximately ₹90 lakh.
Besides these a double-storeyed residential house on 4.5 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹90 lakh, belonging to Altaf Ahmad Sheikh of Sheikh Colony, Androoni Kathidarwaza; a double-storeyed residential house on 5.5 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹85 lakh and belonging to Hyder Ali Wani, resident of Kathidarwaza, Rainawari; a three-storeyed residential house on 6 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹95 lakh belonging to Shakeel Ahmad Sheikh of Kathidarwaza, Rainawari; and a double-storeyed residential house on 7 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹95 lakh, were also attached in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act, police said.
