A highlight of the programme was the release of The Lord Sorcery, a book authored by young writer Eeman Khan. Speakers praised the budding author and encouraged young writers to continue pursuing literary excellence. Eeman Khan thanked the organisers and said the encouragement from the literary fraternity would inspire her to continue writing.

Senior journalist and Chairman of the Baramulla Working Journalists Association (BWJA), Haji Karamat Qayoom, was conferred with the Shaan-e-Sahafat Award in recognition of his contribution to journalism. The award was presented by the Baramulla Writers Forum for his dedicated service and professional commitment.

The organisers also felicitated several writers, poets, literary personalities, office-bearers of the Baramulla Writers Forum and other guests with awards and mementoes for their contributions to literature, culture and society.

Speakers highlighted the importance of promoting literary culture, preserving Kashmir’s cultural heritage and encouraging responsible journalism, saying such forums provide a platform for creative expression and nurture emerging talent.

The conference concluded with the organisers reaffirming their commitment to holding more literary events to encourage young writers, promote reading habits and preserve the region’s literary traditions.
