He stressed the need for coordination and cooperation among officials, with a special focus on publicising government welfare schemes and programmes to ensure that people are aware of and able to avail their benefits.

In Bandipora, Gurkoo assumed charge following the transfer of Aadil Manzoor Wani from the district. After taking over, he held an introductory meeting with officers and officials of the District Information Centre (DIC) and reviewed the functioning of the office.

During the meeting, Gurkoo called for dedication, professionalism and coordinated teamwork to ensure effective dissemination of information on government policies, developmental initiatives and flagship programmes. He also underscored the importance of timely, accurate and people-centric communication through print, electronic and digital media to strengthen public outreach and awareness.

Officials of the District Information Centre welcomed Gurkoo and assured him of their full cooperation in the discharge of the department’s responsibilities.

The occasion also marked a farewell to outgoing DIO Bandipora, Aadil Manzoor Wani, in recognition of his services to the Information Department. Officials wished him success in his future assignments.
