DC Anantnag reviews arrangements for Mata Uma Bhagwati festival

Anantnag: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat on Sunday reviewed the arrangements for the Murti Pratishthan Diwas of Mata Uma Bhagwati, scheduled to be held at Brariangan, Shangus, from July 19 to 21.

According to an official statement, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the temple premises and reviewed the arrangements made by various departments for the smooth conduct of the festival. He assessed preparedness with regard to drinking water, electricity, road connectivity, sanitation, healthcare, security, traffic management and other essential facilities for devotees.

During the visit, Dr. Bilal directed the officers concerned to ensure that all arrangements were put in place in advance and maintained throughout the festival. He stressed the need for close coordination among departments and asked officials to remain prepared round the clock to ensure uninterrupted services and the safety and convenience of devotees.

Representatives of the Umanagri Trust Asthapan also briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the preparations for the event. The statement said Dr. Bilal assured the trust of full administrative support for the successful conduct of the festival.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, Syed Ishfaq Ahmad; Superintending Engineer, Jal Shakti, Sareer Ahmad Wani; Superintending Engineer, Power Development Department, Mohd Yousuf Mir; the Block Medical Officer, Tehsildar Anantnag, Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council Anantnag, and other officers.
