Srinagar: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday reviewed the organisational affairs of its Budgam and Ganderbal units during separate meetings held at the party headquarters in Srinagar.
The meetings were chaired by PDP General Secretary (Organisation) Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura and attended by General Secretary Mohammad Khursheed Aalam, Additional General Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Bhat and other senior party leaders, according to a party statement.
The Budgam meeting was attended by MLA Budgam Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, Ghulam Ahmed Khan, Manzoor Ahmed Wani, Youth General Secretary Shahnawaz Ahmed Mir, district office-bearers, zonal members and other party functionaries.
The Ganderbal meeting was attended by District President Zahoor Ahmed Rather, Jamat Ali Shaheen, Youth District President Mubashir Qazi, district office-bearers, zonal members and other functionaries.
During the meetings, the party leadership reviewed the organisational structure and functioning of the two district units and discussed measures to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level. Discussions also focused on expanding public outreach, revitalising district and zonal committees, improving coordination among party workers and enhancing engagement with the public, the statement said.
Addressing the meetings, Hanjura urged party office-bearers and workers to remain united and disciplined while intensifying organisational activities. He reiterated the PDP’s commitment to safeguarding the constitutional rights, dignity, identity and democratic aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meetings concluded with a resolve to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence and expand its outreach across Central Kashmir, the statement added.
