Srinagar: A senior official of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the Sempora area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday, officials said.
According to officials, the man was found hanging. A police team from Police Station Pantha Chowk reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and took charge of the investigation.
The body was shifted for medico-legal formalities, while police have initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.
The cause of death has not been officially established, and further investigation is underway, officials said.
