LEH: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Wednesday organised a consumer outreach programme on tariff and billing in telecom and broadcasting services at the headquarters of Chief Engineer, Project Himank, Choglamsar, Leh.
The programme was attended by representatives of telecom service providers, Border Roads Organisation (BRO) personnel and their family members.
Officials from TRAI, including Joint Advisor Rajesh Tripathi, Senior Research Officer Sushil Kumar Bansal and Suresh K. V., along with representatives of Airtel, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Reliance Jio, conducted technical sessions on consumer protection and tariff and billing provisions in telecom and broadcasting services. The sessions focused on creating awareness about consumer rights and the regulatory framework governing these services.
Inspector Shamim of the Ladakh Police delivered a session on cyber hygiene, highlighting safe online practices and measures to protect against cyber threats.
The programme also included demonstrations on the TRAI DND App, TRAI MySpeed App, Digital Connectivity Rating of Buildings and the PM-WANI initiative. Participants were encouraged to use these platforms to improve their telecom service experience and help enhance service quality.
According to TRAI, several participants downloaded the TRAI DND App during the programme to help curb unsolicited commercial communications.
