Srinagar: Police in Awantipora claimed to have solved a hit and run case by arresting the accused involved in causing injuries to a pedestrian and fleeing from the scene.
The case pertains to an incident at Kahleel Road, Tral, where an unknown motorcycle rider hit and injured a pedestrian, Shabir Ahmad Bhat of Tral Bala, and escaped immediately after the accident.
During investigation of the case, police on the basis of sustained technical and human intelligence-based efforts identified the accused as Mursaleen Riyaz, who had been evading arrest.
The accused was arrested and the motorcycle (Pulsar, JK13F-1436), involved in the accident, was also seized, police said.
