Srinagar: The Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM) on Monday concluded its third and fourth water skiing courses with a valedictory ceremony after the completion of the training programme at Dal and Nigeen lakes.
According to an official statement, 53 participants successfully completed the course, which focused on improving technical skills, confidence and water safety.
The valedictory function was attended by veteran skier and mountaineer Vijay Kaul as the chief guest, along with the Principal of IISM.
Certificates were presented to all successful participants, while trainees who demonstrated outstanding performance during the course were also felicitated.
Speaking on the occasion, the institute’s officials said such training programmes play an important role in promoting adventure tourism, encouraging water sports and developing skilled athletes in the region. They said the successful completion of the courses reflects IISM’s continued efforts to strengthen adventure sports training and capacity building.
