Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Monday visited the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, to review medical care being provided to Shri Amarnath Ji Yatris undergoing treatment at the hospital.
According to an official statement, Garg interacted with the pilgrims admitted to the hospital and enquired about their health and the medical facilities being provided. He assured them of the administration’s support and directed the hospital authorities to ensure prompt and quality healthcare.
The Divisional Commissioner instructed the hospital administration and senior doctors to closely monitor treatment protocols and ensure the availability of all essential medical facilities for the pilgrims.
Director SKIMS Prof. Mohammad Ashraf Ganie informed him that the hospital has earmarked a dedicated ward with exclusive medical and support staff for the treatment of Amarnath Yatris.
He said SKIMS has treated 44 pilgrims so far during the ongoing yatra, of whom 28 have been discharged after recovery.
The visit was attended by the Medical Superintendent, SKIMS, Assistant Commissioner Central and other senior medical officials, the statement added.
