Jammu: Around 90.3 per cent of enrolled candidates appeared in the National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination 2025-26 conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE).
According to an official statement, 6,000 of the 6,644 enrolled candidates took the examination, registering an attendance of 90.30 per cent.
The examination was conducted under the Centrally Sponsored National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme of the Government of India for meritorious students from economically weaker sections studying in government and government-aided schools.
JKBOSE said the examination was conducted smoothly across the Union Territory under the overall supervision of Chairman-cum-Secretary Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, while Director Academics and NMMSS Liaison Officer Dr Parveen Singh coordinated the exercise with the support of the Academics Division.
The Board appreciated the cooperation of Chief Education Officers, who served as district nodal officers, along with centre superintendents, deputy centre superintendents, invigilators and inspection teams for ensuring the smooth and transparent conduct of the examination.
JKBOSE also thanked all stakeholders associated with the examination and reiterated its commitment to ensuring transparency and fairness in the implementation of the scholarship scheme.
