Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma on Thursday said the party would intensify its public outreach campaign and continue to hold the National Conference (NC)-led government accountable over what he described as its failure to fulfil electoral promises.

Sharma made the remarks while chairing a meeting of senior BJP leaders at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to review the organisational and prevailing socio-political situation in Jammu and Kashmir and discuss the party’s future strategy.

The meeting was attended by BJP general secretaries Sanjita Dogra, Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, MLA Sham Lal Sharma, and other senior leaders.

According to a BJP statement, Sharma alleged that the Omar Abdullah-led government had failed to deliver on commitments made in its 2024 election manifesto and accused it of poor governance on issues such as unemployment, inflation, power and water supply, civic amenities, road infrastructure and grievance redressal.

He further claimed that various sections of society, including youth, farmers, traders, daily wagers and employees, were feeling neglected due to what he termed the government’s indecisiveness.

The BJP leader said the party would continue to raise issues concerning the public through democratic means, strengthen its grassroots organisation and expand its outreach across Jammu and Kashmir.

Sharma also said the BJP would continue to hold the NC government accountable for its policies and what he described as unfulfilled promises, the statement added.
